Court-yard:
the southern side of the house is delimited by a paved court-yard, with its
cosy and well protected sitting place in between the old fig-tree and oleander
vases.
Garden and Pool: Just some steps across the pathway from the main entrance
of the house, is the garden above Mas Labau. In the centre of the enclosed
Mediterranean garden with its shrubs, old olive-trees and hedges you will
find the unusually shaped swimming pool (11 x 5 x 1,90 m)
A paved,
surrounded with sun-chairs and grassy lawn, large and partially roofed terrace
with table and benches invites for open air activities, eating, drinking or
just listening to the sounds of nature. Below the little pool-house there
is a fixed barbecue, built in local rock. Above the enclosed garden area there
is a badminton field in preparation.
It is the outstanding beauty of the surrounding landscape together with the possibility to be entirely undisturbed that makes visitors prefer this place most of all. The limestone cliffs of ‘Hortus’, just above Mas Labau, keep the Mistral-winds away. To south and west there is an unspoiled panoramic view on the coastal plain and the ‘Pic St. Loup’ chain with the ruins of medieval ‘Chateau Montferrand’. Just step out of the garden and stroll through the field of wild lavender, rosemary and thyme to the shady stone-oak and pine- forest. Here you can walk for hours.
